Getting to the Conference
The conference is being held at the Bamfield Marine
Station. The Marine Station is located in a protected inlet on
the south shore of Barkley Sound in the community of Bamfield.

We will be travelling to Bamfield aboard the MV Lady Rose
from Port Alberni. We will be departing July 20 at 3:30 pm. The
Lady Rose departs from the harbour quay on the waterfront. There
is free parking for cars on Kingsway, 1 block up from the
departure point.
Victoria to Port Alberni:
Car: 3.5 - 4 hours
Bus: 5 hours Island Coachlines. Cost:
Departs Victoria 9:20 am from Douglas
Arrives Port Alberni 2:20
Taxi to Lady Rose; 10 minutes
Vancouver to Port Alberni:
Car + Ferry Via Horseshoe Bay: 3.5 -
Bus + Ferry: 5 hours Greyhound. Cost
Departs Vancouver 9:15 am Depot
Arrives Port Alberni 2:20
Taxi to Lady Rose 10 minutes
Transportation out of Bamfield
IMPORTANT NOTE: We do not have the Lady Rose chartered for the
return to Port Alberni, as
some conference attendees will be wanting to stay in Bamfield,
for post-conference activities. The
Lady Rose returns to Port Alberni on its regular schedule -
tickets are $24 one way, and may be
purchased directly on the boat:
Saturday: Departs Bamfield 1:00 pm
Sunday: Departs Bamfield 3:00 pm
The West Coast Trail Express runs a van from Bamfield directly
to Victoria for a one-way cost of
